The Malibu is redesigned for the 2008 model year
The redesigned 2008 Chevrolet Malibu emphasizes civilized road manners, quality construction and practicality, with clean, contemporary styling. The current Chevrolet Malibu looks more like a luxury sedan than a fleet car. And along with the upscale styling is a much-improved cabin in terms of materials and build quality. Two-tone interior schemes, even on base models, further the effect.
The 2008 Malibu offers a 169 hp (126 kW), 2.4 L inline-4 as the base engine, and a 252 hp (188 kW), 3.6 L V6 as an option. The 2008 Malibu is available in LS, LT and LTZ trim levels. The LT versions upgrade with stability control, alloy wheels and (on the 2LT) heated seats and more power features. Highlights of the LTZ include foglamps, 18-inch alloys, leather seating and an upgraded audio system.
The 2008 Malibu is now available alongside the Malibu Hybrid, and the 4-cylinder LTZ model (with the 6-speed automatic) will be available in early 2008. The Malibu Hybrid is an efficient, roomy, well-powered, high-styled mid-size offering. The new Malibu received the prestigious North American Car of the Year Award at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
